5-Ingredient Balsamic Vinaigrette

5-Ingredient Balsamic Vinaigrette

Making a simple vinaigrette only adds an additional five minutes of prep time and yields many benefits. Just think about it. You’ll know all the ingredients your dressing contains. You can control the amount of sugar or leave it out all together. Have you ever seen a store bought salad dressing without sugar? It’s extremely rare. I only know of one brand. There will be no preservatives or artificial anything and you’ll just make a small batch of what you need. You can use extra-virgin olive oil which is a heart-healthy choice as opposed to the store-bought dressings made from seed oils. Best of all this vinaigrette tastes noticeably fresh—so fresh that guests usually ask what’s in the dressing. I can see the surprise in everyone’s face when I list the five ingredients: olive oil, a good quality balsamic vinaigrette, yellow or Dijon mustard, salt and pepper. These are staples likely sitting in your pantry and fridge right now. What are you waiting for?
